AIO Motors

As one door closed, another swung open—pretty much the same day. My previous employer shut down their North American offices, and just a few hours later, a buddy called me up and said, “Hey, want to help out on this wild new project?” Enter: the AIO project.

We were a small crew—about eight of us—basically having the time of our lives. Playing in VR, messing around with design and video tools, bringing big ideas to life. It felt more like a creative jam session than a job. Sadly, like many great stories in the EV world, this one didn’t get its fairy-tale ending. The dream didn’t land the funding, and yet another electric vehicle startup rode off into the sunset (without a charge station in sight).

Still, it was a blast. I got to design a vehicle from the ground up—interior, exterior, hardware, digital interfaces, the whole package. I even brushed off my old web chops and pitched in on the AIO website and AR experience. Who knows—maybe this project will spark back to life someday. Until then, I’m just glad I got to help build something this cool with some seriously talented people.
